On September 29, President Obama signed H.R. 5325, an omnibus bill that included extending four programs, the EB-5 investment visa program, the EB-4 religious worker visa program, Conrad 30 program for J-1 waivers, and E-Verify until December 9, 2016.  This was a last-minute, short-term extension that once again postpones a serious evaluation of these programs. For example, there have been proposals to increase the monetary thresholds of the EB-5 program, and even a few calls to cancel the investment visa altogether.
