Alexandra’s Immigration Story
Alexandra was born in Los Angeles, California, but her immigration story starts in the early 80s when her parents immigrated from Chile. They were able legalize their status when President Regan signed the Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986. This act provided amnesty for Alexandra’s parents and 3 million other immigrants living within the US.
As an immigration attorney, Alexandra now helps families and businesses attain the American dream, as her own family achieved. Due to her Hispanic heritage, Alexandra speaks fluent Spanish and so is perfectly positioned to help those in need in any immigration matter. Alexandra has a particular interest in family immigration and removal defense, as well as employment-based petitions and federal litigation.
Alexandra’s Education & Experience
Alexandra graduated cum laude from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Geography in 2010 and went on to pursue her law degree at the University of Miami’s School of Law, where she graduated cum laude in 2014.
During Alexandra’s time studying at the University of Miami, she interned at the Immigration Clinic, where she gained experience representing clients in immigration court proceedings, researched and drafted briefs, and presented a “Know Your Rights” talk to those at Glades Detention Center.
Alexandra also spent time interning for Judge John Opaciuch at the Krome Immigration Court and at Americans for Immigrant Justice and Catholic Charities Legal Services. Alexandra is admitted to the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Alexandra is an active member of AILA and currently serves on the AILA National FOIA committee. Alexandra is on the Board of Directors for the AILA South Florida Chapter and also serves on the ICE – Enforcement Removal Operations committee and the Congressional – State/Local committee.
