Foreign Nationals are Reminded to Notify USCIS of Address Changes

by | Feb 18, 2015 | News

Under the immigration rules, foreign nationals residing in the United States are required to update their address with USCIS within 10 days of moving, and can do so at the USCIS website or by filing a Form AR-11. While failing to do so generally has not adversely impacted foreign nationals applying for benefits — USCIS has not enforced this requirement — those residing in the U.S. should complete the form, even after the prescribed time period. The form can, however, be confusing; with this in mind, USCIS is planning to revise the form in an effort to more efficiently collect change of address and related data.
